In the pages of history, there lies legends suppressed in silence, where the names of great empires glistened only to be torn into dust by the darkness that they could not tame. One of those legends, the Empire of the damned, is non-exclusive.

According to the legends, centuries ago a charismatic warlord, whose ambitions to conquer everything were unlimited, founded the Empire of the Damned, transforming a basic kingdom into an enormous monster which cast its dark shadow across the whole known world. Its armies travelled around continents

Nevertheless, beyond the facade of splendor, there hid a malicious power, a decay that relentlessly infiltrated and stained the very essence of the empire. As the signs of greed and paranoia took over their leaders, the empire underwent a dark whirl of brutality and subjugation.

But the Empire of the Dead appeared to be unquestionably destined to reign forever. Despite this, chinks in this facade game into view. The fullest raged in the remotest areas of its domain as the fiercest cuds of those who had been down under its rule.

Ultimately the empire was not conquered from without by its enemies but it crumbled from within disease. With the Empire of the damned splattered to pieces as the civil war ravaged its holdings and its enemies advancing from all sides the entire realm sunk under the weight of its own steadily growing corruption, leaving nothing behind but ruins and ash.

Currently, it (the empire) remains only the memory of its deeds, a harsh lesson about the perils of boundless ambitions and the stupidity of those who would want to rule by terror and suppression. In dark recesses of the world lingers even now the whispers of the old greatness, the faint echo of the sacrifice required to get the power in Empired the Dead.
