For Windows Vista, 7, 8, or 10

• Press Windows + R to open the Run window.
• Enter gpedit.msc and click OK.
• Navigate to Local System Policy > System Configuration > Admin Templates > Windows Components > Windows Installer.
• Double-click Prohibit non-admins and choose Disabled.

For Windows XP

• Click Start, choose Run, enter gpedit.msc, and click OK.
• Go to Local System Policy > System Configuration > Admin Templates > Windows Components > Windows Installer.
• Double-click Prohibit non-administrators and choose Disabled.

Step 3. Run regedit

• Click Start, enter command in the search bar, and press Enter.
